We completed our "DREAM" art lesson and once again, I am floored by the creativity and rendering by my Art II students!  I am a very proud teacher!

Check out the video from last year...

Last year, our students were included in this documentary film put together by Richard Karz!  Check it out and you'll "see" the value in this amazing art lesson opportunity!
...and the amazing art work is coming in!  I am SO proud of the divergent, creative thinking going on in room #416!  These student artists are SEEING the Civil Rights in America today and sharing their stories with us!

DREAM @ 50 .... Let the ART Begin!

My Draw/Paint (art II) students are so excited to be participating in the DREAM @ 50 Visual Art Competition again this year!

Last year, our students did a remarkable job thinking critically about what the Civil Rights in America look like today.

Their creative visions brought in 6 honorable mentions and were exhibited at the Atlanta Airport, the Dream Art Exhibit and continue to move around the state.  2 of our students were also featured in the Dream Art video...the entire experience is one that my students will never forget and this year, it is proving to have the same impact!  Lessons like these, force our students to think beyond the media and elements, these competitions allow our students to make their mark and use their voice ... to better our world!
